Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is a Canadian-based senior gold producer engaged in the exploration, development, operation and expansion of gold mining properties in politically stable jurisdictions. The company produces gold doré bars as its primary product, alongside byproduct silver, zinc and copper concentrates from polymetallic operations; its key producing mines include Detour Lake and Macassa in Ontario, Canadian Malartic and LaRonde complex in Quebec, Meliadine and Hope Bay in Nunavut, Fosterville in Australia, Kittila in Finland and Pinos Altos in Mexico, with processing involving ore extraction via open-pit and underground methods, crushing, grinding, leaching and smelting. Founded in 1957 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Agnico Eagle operates across Canada, Australia, Finland and Mexico, with 85% of gold production and 87% of reserves from Canada; it maintains proven and probable gold reserves of 54.3 million ounces, measured and indicated resources of 43.0 million ounces and inferred resources of 36.2 million ounces as of December 31, 2024, targeting annual production of 3.3 to 3.5 million ounces at all-in sustaining costs of $1,250 to $1,300 per ounce. Recent developments include the acquisition of O3 Mining in a $204 million transaction completed in early 2025 to expand the Marban deposit in Quebec, an additional C$63.4 million investment in Collective Mining in March 2025 increasing ownership to 14.99% to support exploration at the Guayabales project in Colombia, further investment in Maple Gold Mines in September 2025 building on prior stakes, and an investment in Fuerte Metals; exploration successes have expanded inferred resources by 9% to 36.2 million ounces in 2024 with ongoing drilling at Detour Lake underground, East Gouldie at Canadian Malartic, Hope Bay and the Marban area, while development advances at projects like Wasamac, San Nicolas and Hope Bay infrastructure ahead of schedule.
